Kimberly
Williams was doing her routine work at the Comcast cable call center
near Clinton, MS, answering a new call, when suddenly the man on the
other end, Dan Magennis of Michigan, started slurring his words and then
she heard a phone drop.
Kinberly quickly realized what’s
going on - the man was having a stroke. When she was 14, her grandmother
had the same symptoms when she had a stroke. Almost 900 miles away,
Williams knew time is of the essence and called the fire department and
the police right away.
Thanks to her quick thinking, Dan
Magennis was taken to the hospital just minutes after. There, hospital
staff helped him recover and get back on his feet.
“She doesn’t know me but what she did, it was phenomenal,” Magennis, 65, said.
