Self-betrayal and how to heal from it

Self-betrayal can look like this:

1. Breaking promises you've made for yourself,

2. Not honouring your beliefs or core values,

3. changing your authentic self around people to please them,

4. Making life decisions based off what other people want you to do,

5. Continuing to engage with habits, patterns or beliefs that no longer serve you.

Healing self-betrayal

1. Keep small daily promises to show that you can trust yourself again (be consistent).

2. Start saying "yes" ONLY when you feel like saying "yes" and "no" ONLY when you feel like saying 'no'.

3. Follow and listen to your inner guidance (e.g.: make life decisions based off what you think is best for you, not what others want you to do).

4. Envision your future self and set the intention each morning to accomplish one thing that day brings you closer to who you want to become.

5. Use tools like meditation, journaling and breath-work to help you get through difficult emotions while embracing these changes.
