"I don't always spray pesticide,..."

From: @foodsciencebabe

This series of tweets about stock photos used in those “Roundup Claims” ads 🤣😂🤣 .

But seriously, stock photos are ridiculous, especially those pertaining to farming and biotechnology.

This guy is wearing no personal protective equipment (PPE), looks like he’s literally spraying his arm and is spraying TOMATO PLANTS. Roundup would kill tomato plants 🤣 .

SO MUCH NONSENSE .

Let them not enter with any due intentions of grabbing your sun just to create rainbow in their land.

PSA: Untreated depression can cause permenant changes in the brain

 From: @lindsaybraman

Just something I think we as humans and people who are in relationship with other humans should know. This research indicates that untreated depression can cause the brain to shrink (notably, one area affected is the hippocampus- the part of the brain responsible for emotional regulation and complex decision making). Thankfully, brains are able create new neurons throughout our lifetimes, but if left untreated long term, degeneration may outpace our ability to generate new neurons- a capacity that reduces as we age. The good news is that Ahidan (2011) found that brains that have been treated for and/or recovered from major depression are not significantly different in volume from non-depression-experiencing brains at an 11 year follow-up (Ahidan, 2011).

Reminder: Instagram is not therapy and only a health care professional can determine an individual's diagnosis and best treatment for them.

Sophie Scholl's quote by @zenpencils

From: @zenpencils

“The real damage is done by those millions who want to 'survive.' The honest men who just want to be left in peace. Those who don’t want their little lives disturbed by anything bigger than themselves. Those with no sides and no causes. Those who won’t take measure of their own strength, for fear of antagonizing their own weakness. Those who don’t like to make waves—or enemies. Those for whom freedom, honour, truth, and principles are only literature. Those who live small, mate small, die small. It’s the reductionist approach to life: if you keep it small, you’ll keep it under control. If you don’t make any noise, the bogeyman won’t find you. But it’s all an illusion, because they die too, those people who roll up their spirits into tiny little balls so as to be safe. Safe?! From what? Life is always on the edge of death; narrow streets lead to the same place as wide avenues, and a little candle burns itself out just like a flaming torch does. I choose my own way to burn.” ― Sophie Scholl
